It’s nearing the end of August and that means that the busy season in St. Simons Island will soon be coming to an end. Sure we have tourists throughout the year, but the busiest time is during the summer months – and once school is back in session, our tourist numbers drop.
The good news in all of this is that this time of year is often the best time for people to get a good deal on a St. Simons Island vacation home or oceanfront property. Most people that are in the market for a vacation home make the mistake of shopping for the property during the peak season. Since this is when most people make their rental income, it’s hard to negotiate a great deal on an oceanfront home in St. Simons Island during the busy summer months. But as the season passes and we head into September, sellers are more willing to negotiate.
