While it may seem weird to hear since it’s only July, the fact remains that the beginning of the school year is right around the corner. Yes, here in the St. Simons Island area (and most of the South for the matter), we head back to school in early August. And of course, with back-to-school time comes a horde of frantic parents praying that they can find and close the deal on a home before the new school year begins.
While the summers here are hot, that doesn’t stop people from buying and selling St. Simons Island real estate. In fact, now is a great time to buy or sell a home. Whether you are a buyer or a seller, a lot of people fall into this same “back-to-school” trap. Since most sellers want to be out of their current home by the time school starts, buyers can usually find great deals if their willing to look and negotiate. And the same is true in reverse – sellers that need to be out soon, can find a good crop of buyers ready to move ASAP.
